Interest-Based Groups help kids discover and grow in their God-given passions. Kids get to choose a group that excites them—like sports, crafts, baking, woodworking, horses, worship, and more—then meet with that same group each week to learn, create, have fun, and build friendships. Each group is hands-on and designed to give kids a place to explore what they love while growing in their faith.

Our Interest-Based Groups run in three trimesters throughout the school year. Kids stay in their chosen group for the entire trimester, and everyone re-registers at the beginning of each new trimester. That means your child can sign up for a favorite again or take the opportunity to try something completely new!

Kids Splash meets Wednesday nights from 6:30–7:45 PM for K–5th Grade.

Trimester 1: September 9 – December 16, 2026
Trimester 2: January 6 – March 17, 2027
Trimester 3: March 31 – June 2, 2027

FAQ

What are Interest-Based Groups?
Interest-Based Groups give kids the chance to learn, create, play, and explore something they’re interested in while building friendships and growing in their faith. With a variety of groups available, there’s something for all kinds of interests!

How are groups organized?
Each group is centered around a specific interest or activity, and some groups may have grade or age requirements. Check the individual group descriptions before registration to find the best fit for your child.

How long does my child stay in the same group?
Kids stay in their chosen group for the entire trimester. At the beginning of each new trimester, all kids need to re-register, whether they want to return to the same group or try something new.

How does my child choose a group?
Parents and kids can look through the available groups and choose the one they’re most excited about! Registration is free but required, and spots are first come, first served, so some groups may fill quickly.

Can my child switch groups during the trimester?
We encourage kids to stick with the group they registered for throughout the trimester. This helps them build relationships, develop skills, and get the full experience before having another opportunity to choose when registration opens for the next trimester.

What does a normal Wednesday night look like?
Kids begin the night in their Interest-Based Group rooms before everyone gathers together for Large Group worship, fun, and Bible teaching. After Large Group, kids return to their rooms for Small Group discussion and hands-on Interest-Based Group time before parent pick-up at 7:45 PM.

Are the activities faith-based?
Absolutely! Kids Splash is first and foremost about helping kids know and follow Jesus. Interest-Based Groups give leaders another opportunity to build relationships with kids, encourage them in their God-given gifts, and help them grow in their faith.

What if we've never been to Kids Splash before?
We'd love to have you! Our Check-In Team will help your family get checked in, show your child where to go, and answer questions so you know exactly what to expect.

What if my child has special needs or needs extra support?
We want every child to have an opportunity to participate and feel safe, included, and loved. Let our Waters Kids team know about your child's needs so we can work with you to determine how we can best support them.

Pony Pals is a fun and hands-on group for kids who love animals and want to learn about horses! Throughout this group, kids will learn what it takes to properly care for a horse, including grooming, feeding, and understanding basic horse safety. Some nights we will even have a real horse on site for demonstrations and learning opportunities!

Safety is a top priority, and kids will learn how to safely interact with horses while gaining confidence and responsibility. Because live animals will be present during some sessions, a signed waiver is required for participation.

This group is designed for 3rd–5th graders and is perfect for kids who are curious about animals and excited to learn new skills.
